Deutsche Telekom to by Serbia Telekom

Germans are already in Croatia and Montenegro, they are offering deal to Slovenia and Serbia Deutsche Telekom to by Serbia Telekom

The German telecommunication company the Deutsche Telekom is interested in takeover of the Serbia Telekom.

The Blic source says that the EBRD (European Bank for Renewal and Development) is also interested in the Telekom Serbia, but the Serbian Government’s favorite is the German company that employees 230,000 people in 50 countries.

- The Deutsche Telekom is the owner of telecommunication companies in Croatia and Montenegro. Two weeks ago it gave an offer for privatization of the Slovenia Telekom. So the company’s intention to start business dealing in Serbia and thus round up the business in the Balkans is only logical – our source says.

 

70 Euros to each citizen

The citizens entitled to free shares would get 70 Euros each from the sale of the Serbia Telekom. The Blic source says that the Serbia Telekom shall not go to stock exchange, but the new owner would purchase shares of citizens entitled to free shares. Every one of them got last year 31 shares at the price of 2.27 Euros per share.

This source points out that the Deutsche Telekom would purchase the major stake of the Serbia Telekom, while the EBRD is an institution that has been purchasing minor share in companies and banks in Serbia until so far. The plan is that a buyer for the Serbia Telekom is found until the end of the year. It is estimated that the sale could be worth 1.4 billion Euros, the amount assessed in 2011.
