Angela Merkel meets with global business leaders

German Chancellor Angela Merkel meets with the representatives of large companies from all over the world as part of a two-day World Economic Forum (WEF) event.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel met with the representatives of large companies from all over the world as part of a two-day World Economic Forum (WEF) event in Berlin.

Merkel addressed bank managers, publishers, holding CEO's and industrialists on German economy, renewable energy and digital developments at a nearly five hour session.

“WEF is bringing together businesspeople, and company executives with the government leaders of the countries that hold economic and strategic power. We collect first hand information about the developments in world economy at these meetings,” said Arzuhan Doğan Yalçındağ, the Doğan TV Holding chairwoman who was present at the meeting.

“Prime Minister Merkel gave us accurate information on economy, natural energy and digital developments,” she said after the meeting.  

WEF President  Klaus Schwab, Germany's Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble and some other bureaucrats also joined the event. 

Merkel hosted the participants at a dinner after the first day meetings as Schaeuble met with the group at a breakfast on the second day.
