FM to attend third annual EUSDR meeting

BELGRADE -- First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić will head the Serbian delegation at the Third Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR).

The meeting is taking place in Vienna Thursday and Friday.

Dačić will participate in a meeting of foreign ministers of the Danube region countries, hosted by Sebastian Kurz, Austria's federal minister for Europe, integration and foreign affairs, the Serbian Foreign Ministry has said.

The Third EUSDR Forum is an opportunity for representatives of the Danube countries and other stakeholders to discuss the strategic direction, concrete projects and plans and outstanding issues.

The EUSDR signatories are 14 Danube countries, with over 115 million inhabitants, nine of whom are member-states of the EU - Germany, Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia and Croatia - and five that are still not - Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Ukraine and Moldova.

The strategy is a platform for cooperation and acceptance of the acquis by candidate countries.
