National Liberal Party (PNL) Chairman Klaus Iohannis on Saturday withdrew the resolution proposal on the designation of the party's candidate for the presidential elections, after he and Crin Antonescu entered this race.

"We are facing the happiest situation a serious party can be faced with, having two serious candidates and if we are in this situation we can only be glad. I do not fear entering a competition with Mr Antonescu, but we shall have enough time to find evaluation methods. We shall not do this today [on Saturday]. I withdraw the resolution from the Congress meeting today, we cannot allow someone else to elect the candidate and we cannot miss electing the best for the presidential elections in autumn," Iohannis said in the PNL Congress meeting.

PNL honorary chairman Mircea Ionescu Quintus said that the candidate election for the presidential elections would be done by the party's Standing Delegation.
