Nikolic at donor conference in Brussels

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will attend a donor conference dedicated to repairing the damage from the floods in Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and the event will be held in Brussels on July 16, Serbia's Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Wednesday.

Head of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency Bakir Izetbegovic will also be at the conference, Dacic told a news conference.

Nikolic and Izetbegovic will inform the participants about the scale of the damage from the May floods.

French and Slovenian officials will co-chair the meeting that will also include officials of the IMF, UN, OSCE and a large number of NGOs.
"It is important that the conference has a regional character," Dacic stated.

Almost EUR 7 million have been collected as aid through PayPal accounts and 5,500 t of aid worth more than EUR 19.5 million have been delivered, he noted.

Dacic said he would attend the annual ministerial meetin of the UN social and economic council in New York on July 8 to talk about the damage caused by the floods in Serbia.

He also pointed out he would invite all the UN members to take part in the donor conference in Brussels.
