Dacic meets members of Russian Academy of Arts

BELGRADE - Serbia's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic, in the capacity of co-chair of the committee for interior decoration of St. Sava Cathedral in Belgrade, met on Thursday with Academician Nikolai Alexandrovich Mukhin of the Russian Academy of Arts, and science secretary of the Academy Nadezhda Nikolayevna Mukhina.

The meeting was also attended by protomaster of St. Sava Cathedral Professor Vojislav Milovanovic, Serbian Foreign Ministry stated in a release.

Minister Dacic received an invitation to attend the final meeting of the committee for interior decoration of St. Sava Cathedral, which will take place in Moscow in late September this year.

The Protocol between the governments of Serbia and the Russian Federation on Russia's contribution to the interior decoration of St. Sava Cathedral, the largest orthodox church in the Balkans, was signed in Moscow on March 16, 2012.

The Protocol is implemented by the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russian Federation's Ministry of Culture.

The Russian Academy of Arts conducted the reconstruction of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, with Academician Mukhin in charge of decoration of the largest part of the cathedral's interior, the release states.
