Six medals for Serbian mathematicians in Cape Town
CAPE TOWN - Serbian students won one gold, three silver and two bronze medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Cape Town, adding to the string of success enjoyed by the Serbian teams in this competition over the years.
The gold medal for Serbia in the most prestigious mathematical competition for high-school students was won by Zarko Randjelovic from the Svetozar Markovic High School in Nis.
The silver medals went to Andjela Sarkovic from the Nis high school, and to Dusan Drobnjak and Luka Vukelic, students of the Mathematical High School in Belgrade.
Ivan Tanasijevic and Maksim Stokic from the Belgrade Mathematical High School won the bronze medals, Serbia's team leader Dusan Djukic said.
The 55th International Mathematical Olympiad is held in South African Republic July 3-13, and gathers 560 participants from 101 countries.
