Kelemen says he told PM Ponta UDMR to name culture minister after Aug. 1

The president of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR, a governing coalition partner) Hunor Kelemen told AGERPRES that in the talks he had with Prime Minister Victor Ponta at the Government's offices in the capital on Monday he had informed the cabinet head that the UDMR will name a culture minister after August 1.

Until such time, Kelemen added, he will carry on as a culture minister.

The UDMR leader announced he would further take part in the governing coalition meetings alongside the other UDMR leaders — political vice president Laszlo Borbely, Senate floor leader Marko Bela and Chamber of Deputies floor leader Mate Andras.

Kelemen had announced on Friday he would step down from vice premier and a culture minister, but his party would stay in government. AGERPRES
