Israel’s mentality 'no different from Hitler’s': Turkish PM Erdoğan
Israelâs approach to the Palestinians is no different to the mentality of Adolf Hitler, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip ErdoÄan has said, accusing Israel of committing âsystematic atrocity and state terrorâ against the Palestinians since 1948.
While he welcomed Egyptâs initiative for a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, ErdoÄan said a ceasefire was not enough and stressed that Israel should âimmediately lift the illegal embargo on Palestine.â
âWhat Israel has been using in Gaza since last week is not explainable. Israel continues to terrorize. Moving beyond individual terrorism, itâs now committing state terror,â he said, speaking in his weekly address to his parliamentary group on July 15.
Recalling Egyptâs move to broker a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, ErdoÄan expressed his hope for a deal that would avoid the killings of innocent Palestinian children in what he described as âthe dirty politics of the Middle East.â
He also slammed the international community for what he described as âinactionâ to stop Israelâs military offensive, saying the Western world and the international community had âignored the Palestinian tragedy since 1948â and criticizing the U.S. for not pushing harder to implement a two-state solution.
âNo country in the world, except Turkey, can stand against Israelâs attacks and urge it to stop. I recall, once again, that those who commit brutalities will sooner or later pay the price,â ErdoÄan said.
Referring to a female Knesset member who reportedly said that âall Palestinians are our enemies,â ErdoÄan said this mentality was no different to that of Hitler...
