Vucic proposes joint projects with BiH for Berlin summit

DOBOJ - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Saturday that he will invite Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) Bakir Izetbegovic and President of Republika Srpska (RS-Serb entity in BiH) Milorad Dodik to prepare together with Serbia joint projects for a regional summit of the Western Balkan countries.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel will host a summit of the Western Balkan countries in Berlin in late August.
“I told Dodik, and I will tell Izetbegovic that at this major regional summit, which will be organized by Angela Merkel, we could appear together as the people seeking Germany's and the EU's backing for big projects,” Vucic told reporters after visiting Doboj, RS.

He voiced the confidence that Serbia, the (Bosniak-Croat) Federation of BiH and RS will get broad support from Germany, the EU and the entire world, if they appear at the summit together with joint projects.
As an example of the project that would benefit Serbia, the Federation of BiH, and RS, Vucic mentioned the Belgrade-Sarajevo railway.

The Vucic-led delegation, comprising Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic and Jagodina Mayor Dragan Markovic, toured on Saturday Samac and Doboj, the towns in RS, which were hit by the severe floods in May, like many areas in Serbia.

Together with RS President Milorad Dodik and Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic, the Serbian officials toured two schools that sustained damage in the floods - one in Crkvina near Samac and the Vuk Karadzic school in Doboj, which will be repaired thanks to the Serbian government's donations worth EUR 0.5 million for each of them.
