Prime Minister Victor Ponta declared at the graduation ceremony of the Military Technical Academy on Thursday that Romania needs the training of a performing army, and all the sacrifices in the budget and upon the budget review are more than necessary.

'I want whole Romania proud of the achievements of all those who serve their country anywhere they are sent. [Defence] Minister Mr. [Mircea] Dusa said that this year, unlike in the previous ones, we managed to find the necessary resources to guarantee working places for all of you graduating today in various areas of military education,' Ponta said .

He told the graduates that they will always be people who make their country proud.

'I wish to appreciate your work, and I wish to say that Romania really needs you. (...) I want to tell you that Romania is proud of you, that we need you, and that you will surely fulfil your duty very well. I am convinced that — if you keep doing your duty — you will be the people Romania needs. You will always be people in whom the country takes pride.' the prime minister stressed.

At the end of the ceremony of graduation and commissioning as officers and professionals, Ponta and top student George Priceputu planted the tree of the 2014 class of military and civil engineers styled Constantin Brancoveanu—300 in the university park of the Military Technical Academy.
