Thousands of dead fish surface in Lake Pamvotis

Thousands of dead have surfaced in Lake Pamvotis in Ioannina, in Epirus, northwestern Greece. According to local reports the dead fish were first witnessed by fishermen on Wednesday.

Reports suggested that the fish may have died of asphyxiation due to low ogygen levels in the water.
