Serbia returns to Junior Eurovision Song Contest

BELGRADE - Serbia returns to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest after a three-year absence.

The Radio and Television of Serbia confirmed that it will send a representative to the 12th Junior Eurovision Song Contest, adding that the manner in which the Serbian entry will be selected is to be announced at a later date.

The last contestant representing Serbia was Sonja Skoric, who won the third place in 2010.

Nevena Bozovic also finished third in 2007, the year which, owing to Marija Serifovic's victory in the 52nd Eurovision Song Contest, is so far the most successful for Serbia in this pan-European music competition.

This year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest will be held in Malta on November 15 under the slogan 'Together.'

Eleven countries besides Serbia have so far confirmed their participation in the contest - Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Georgia, Italy, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, and Ukraine.
