Golden Dawn MPs charged with firing shots at Dertilis funeral

Three MPs elected with Golden Dawn and a neofascist party candidate have been charged with firing shots during the funeral of Greek junta collaborator Nikolaos Dertilis on January 31 last year.

Investigators found that 10 of the bullets were fired from a gun owned by GD deputy Ilias Panayiotaros (photo) and five from a weapon belonging to fellow GD MP Costas Barbarousis. Four of the bullets were allegedly shot from a gun owned by GD candidate Apostolos Gletsos and two from that of Stathis Boukouras, now independent.

Authorities had confiscated the weapons during a different investigation. The case file has been submitted to Parliament.
