ALMATY -- Serbian men's water polo team claimed the gold medal at the FINA World Cup in Kazakhstan, after a penalty shootout win over Hungary.

The final match on Sunday ended 11-9 (1-2, 3-3, 1-1, 2-1, 4-2).

The team coached by Dejan Savić extended their dominance in the world water polo with the third trophy this summer, after winning the World League and the European Championship.

Serbia's goalkeeper Stefan Živojinović decided the outcome of the match by saving one penalty in the shoot-out, while all four players scored for Serbia.

Hungarian captain Daniel Varga was voted the most valuable player of the tournament.

Croatia won the bronze medal in the competition, while the United States came in fourth, followed by Australia, Kazakhstan, Montenegro, and South Africa.
