The National Liberal Party (PNL, in opposition) leader Klaus Iohannis told B1 TV news channel late on Monday that a planned Government order regarding the political affiliation of the local elected officials would be a big mistake and an attack on the Romanian political system and he underscored the opposition will use all levers to stop such a move.

'I publicly warn: this order would be a big mistake and an attack on the political system of Romania. It is that simple', Iohannis said.

He insisted the opposition will use the most adequate levers in this case.

'We will use all the levers the opposition has available in order to stop this order — it would be an attack on the essence of local autonomy, on the essence of the multi-party system in Romania', the Liberal head underscored.AGERPRES
