Paralympians attend reception at Palace of Serbia

BELGRADE - State Secretary for Sport Predrag Perunicic received on Tuesday a delegation of the Paralympic track and field team of Serbia who won six medals at the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships held August 18-23 in Swansea, UK.

Success can only come if there is willpower and persistence, and you are the best proof of that, Perunicic said addressing the Paralympians.

"I have faith in these guys and I wish them to continue on the road to success,” said Perunicic, pointing out that a total of RSD 42 million were allocated to Paralympic sports from the 2014 budget, which is a 70 percent rise compared to the year before.

Winner of the shot put silver and javelin bronze Drazenko Mitrovic said that he is very proud of his and his teammates' achievements.

These medals motivate all of us to continue to strive for success, said Mitrovic, who also set the new world record in the men's discus last week.

Other members of the Serbian Paralympic team who claimed medals in Swansea are Milos Mitic in club throw - silver, Slobodan Miletic in discus - silver, Milos Grlica in javelin - silver and Milos Zaric in javelin - silver.
