Vucic goes to Berlin on Wednesday, conference on Thursday

BELGRADE - Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will go to Berlin on Wednesday, a day before a conference on the Western Balkans, and meet with Germany's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Sigmar Gabriel, the daily Kurir has reported.

Vucic will then meet with EU Commissioner for Energy Guenther Oettinger and later have dinner with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and regional leaders.

During his stay in Berlin, Vucic will also have dinner with Austria's Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz and former foreign minister of Germany Guido Westerwelle and meet with officials from the region.

Vucic will also meet with Montenegro's Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and President of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Council of Ministers Vjekoslav Bevanda.

The conference on the Western Balkans is organised at Merkel's initiative.

Reconciliation, resolution of any remaining conflicts and economic cooperation will be the main topics.

Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic and Minister of Finance Dusan Vujovic will accompany Vucic to Berlin.

"There will be talks about regional cooperation, economic relations and the region's development," the Serbian government has said.
