Dacic to attend Conference on Western Balkans on Thursday

BELGRADE - Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic will attend the Conference on the Western Balkans due to take place in Berlin on Thursday at the initiative of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs released on Wednesday.

The Serbian foreign minister will take part in the part of the conference that gathers minister of foreign affairs and he will deliver a speech at the panel entitled 'Economic management and EU accession'.

In addition to ministers of foreign affairs from the region, this part of the Conference on the Western Balkans will also be attended German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sebastian Kurz, as well as European Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele.

In the ministerial part of the conference, the talks will focus on open issues in the region, economic management in the context of EU accession and current international issues.

The ministers will have a chance to organise bilateral meetings, after which foreign ministers, ministers of economy and prime ministers should all attend a working dinner hosted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
