SNS: Serbia pays EUR 430 million penalties over DS policy

BELGRADE - The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) released on Wednesday that in the last year alone, Serbia had to pay more than EUR 430 million worth of penalties over the 'mistakes and incompetence' which the Democratic Party (DS) demonstrated in the final six years of its mandate.

“The penalties are a direct consequence of DS rule,” SNS said in response to the accusations by the democrats that loans granted to Serbia which have not been realised in 2013 and 2014 (since SNS constituted government) entail over EUR 12.5 million worth of costs to the government budget.

SNS qualified as scandalous the DS invitation to citizens to refuse to pay their legally established obligations and their justifications for people's failure to pay electricity bills, adding that these moves constitute a gross violation of laws.

SNS noted that DS leader and president of the Vojvodina government Bojan Pajtic is responsible for over EUR 500 million worth of theft from the funds allocated to the Development Bank of Vojvodina and the Vojvodina Development Fund.
“Nobody can say how long Serbian citizens will have to keep paying for the catastrophic policy of the democrats,” SNS released.
