Basescu: I voice in European Council supporting Ukraine with military equipment to meet aggression from Russia

President Traian Basescu said on Friday that he would voice in the European Council, on Saturday, supporting Ukraine with military equipment so that this country may meet the aggression from the Russian Federation, as well as imposing a new round of sanctions on Russia.

"My position in the European Council (...) will be directed to supporting Ukraine with armament, with which it can meet the aggression from the Russian Federation," the President told, at the Cotroceni Palace, the Annual Meeting of the Romanian Diplomacy.

He added that he would voice also the move to a new phase of financial sanctions on the Russian Federation that will target the energy and military sectors.AGERPRES
