B92 leads campaign to repair kindergartens

BELGRADE -- The Open Heart Street humanitarian campaign has a summer edition - it will be held on Saturday and aim to raise funds to help children in the flooded areas.

A news conference was held on Wednesday to announce the event, organized by RDP B92 and the B92 Fund, in association with Atelje 212 Theater, the City of Belgrade, the Belgrade Tourist Organization, and the Municipality of Stari Grad.

On Saturday, September 6, from 10:00 until 20:00 CET, Svetogorska Street in Belgrade will become "Open Heart Street."

Director of Tourist Organization of Belgrade Miodrag Popović said that they were once again participating in the campaign - normally held on on January 1 to welcome in the new year - with great pleasure, and added:

"In my opinion, an equally important goal is to again raise awareness of this tragedy, of everything that happened, and remind all of us that empathy we show towards our fellow citizens, citizens of Serbia, is just as important for ourselves."

Life-size replicas of dinosaurs, currently displayed at Kalemegdan, will line the street during the event. The stage in front of the Dom Omladine venue will have electronic music, while the one in front of the Stari Grad municipal building will have workshops and entertainment for the youngest.

"We hope that in addition to this method of donating via text messages and purchase of bracelets, companies will also join and donate to the fund account what they can, in order to increase the volume of aid.
