14th Festival of Street Musicians opens in Novi Sad

NOVI SAD - The 14th annual Festival of Street Musicians has begun in Novi Sad with a performance by the world-famous Harlem Gospel Choir.

The festival, which opened late Thursday, ends on September 6 and will feature more than 200 participants - soloists, bands and troupes from the United States, Ireland, Italy, Israel, Mexico, Moldova, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.

All events are free and will take place on various locations in the city.

This year's Festival of Street Musicians will also include Open Up, a special programme dedicated to modern Romany art and culture in Serbia and Europe.

The festival is organised by the Novi Sad-based Inbox Art Association, with support from the City of Novi Sad, the local tourism organisation, Vojvodina's provincial secretariat for culture and information, the US and Israeli embassies in Belgrade, the Naftna Industrija Srbije oil company and Telekom Srbija.
