Most economic sectors to see more hirings by year-end

Employers intend to start hiring in the last quarter of the year in eight out of the nine main sectors of economic activity in Greece, according to the results of a quarterly survey conducted by Manpower on employment prospects.

The report records an increase in employer confidence in Greece for the ninth consecutive quarter, with the employment prospects index coming to +8 percent for the October-December 2014 period compared with the same time in 2013. This has been one of the most optimistic estimates since the last quarter of 2008.

The most optimistic hiring prospects come from the Financial Services, Insurances, Properties and Corporate Services sector, with a forecast of +13 percent in employment compared with the last quarter of 2013. Transport and Communications (+10 percent) and Agriculture (+9 percent) follow.
