State of Emergency Declared in Bulgaria's Sliven After Heavy Rains

State of emergency was declared in the southeastern Bulgarian city of Sliven and several settlements in the region due to the heavy rains, Tuesday.

Emergency measures are needed in the area of Dyuleva River, Yanko Sakazov Blvd, a gully in the Izgrev district, the Novoselsko gorge near the Novoselska river, the Sotirya and Kamen villages, among others, specified by the municipality of Sliven.

The local municipality of Nova Zagora is currently processing all signals for flooded areas, Darik news reports.

On September 4, the local Ticha village was flooded by an overflowing river, however, due to the timely response, there were no significant damages.

The municipality of Tvardica in the Sliven region has not received signals for floods and damages due to heavy rains.
