The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 1,170.85 points, rising 0.47 percent from Tuesday’s 1,165.38 points. The large-cap FTSE/ATHEX 25 index expanded by 0.53 percent to close at 379.69 points, but mid-caps slipped 0.11 percent.

Jumbo’s positive financial results helped the toy retailer’s stock to outperform its blue chip peers, posting gains of 4.19 percent. Motor Oil was a distant second, rising 2.74 percent, while Hellenic Exchanges added 2.08 percent. Titan Cement gave up 1.57 percent and Viohalco lost 1.46 percent.

In total 60 stocks registered gains, 46 suffered losses and 35 remained unchanged.

Turnover amounted to 71.2 million euros, down from Tuesday’s 91.2 million.
