Russia sends aid to flood-affected areas of Bosnia

SARAJEVO -- A Russian airplane carrying 38 tons of humanitarian aid for the areas affected by the May floods landed on Thursday in Sarajevo.

The assistance, sent by the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations, contains food products to be distributed in both entities of Bosnia-Herzegovina, and in the Brčko District.

Entity offices of the Red Cross will organize the distribution, the RS public broadcaster RTRS is reporting.

In May, Russia sent a cargo plane to Banja Luka, RS, that delivered generators, water pumps, tents, blankets, food, and hygiene products.
