Self-Determination member to represent Priština

PRIŠTINA -- A member of the Self-Determination Movement, a party led by Albin Kurti, will in he future represent Priština in the technical dialogue with Belgrade.

It is part of an agreement signed on Wednesday between the post-election coalition of opposition parties - led by the candidate for prime minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj - and the Self-Determination Movement, writes the Belgrade-based daily Danas.

This agreement created the conditions to form a new Kosovo government as well as appoint Isa Mustafa as assembly speaker.

The deal was supported by assembly members from the Serb List, writes the paper, and adds that "this means that current Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and his Democratic Party of Kosovo will be in opposition."

The agreement signed yesterday stipulates, referring to the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština, that the signatories are "committed to a quality dialogue which will be based on well-prepared principles," that will in turn be oriented and focused on issues in the interest of "the Republic of Kosovo," and a dialogue that will be based on reciprocity and respect for "territorial integrity and sovereignty."

"The signatories will always harmonize with regard to the issues that will be discussed in the dialogue. The dialogue is the responsibility of the government and the government will appoint a person from Self-Determination, who will conduct the dialogue," the daily quoted the agreement.

Although it makes no mention of Serbia, "it is understood that the talks would be between Belgrade and Priština," the article further added.
