PM Ponta attends U.N. General Assembly

Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta begins a several-day visit to the United States on Tuesday, to attend the 69th United Nations General Assembly in New York and hold talks on economic issues with U.S. energy company executives.

'Together with Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean I will go to the United States of America at the United Nations General Assembly, I will deliver the national address to the plenary sitting and it is also an extremely important visit in terms of the economy. Me and Minister-delegate for Energy Razvan Nicolescu are scheduled to meet the main energy companies in the United States, as we hope to persuade other investors in this key sector to make investments, besides the companies that have already invested' in Romania, Ponta said on Monday.
