Legacy of Milos Crnjanski exhibition opens in Paris

BELGRADE - An exhibition of the Legacy of Milos Crnjanski of the Serbian National Library opened at the Serbian Cultural Centre in Paris on Wednesday, before a large crowd, the library has stated.

The exhibition is the first one after the redecoration of the centre, whose library will bear the name of Milos Crnjanski, a famous Serbian and writer.

This exhibition marks the 120th anniversary of Crnjanski's birth.

The setup follows the chronology of Crnjanski's likfe and travels with the goal of portraying the creative period of his stay in France and using different angles to shed light on all the elements that could have inspired some of his works.

The exibition is based on interactive graphic elements enriched by multimedia and digital legends in Augmented Reality.

Thanks to the Film Journal and the Radio and Television of Serbia's archive, visitors will be able to see Crnjanski's last interview translated to French and clips of the author reading his poems. The exhibition will be open until October 16.

Crnjanski's works have been translated to French and the readers there are familiar with them thanks to the publishing house L'Age d'Homme from Lausanne. The exhibition provides visitors with an opportunity to came face to face with the legacy of one of the greatest writers of the 20th century.

His novels Migrations and A Novel about London are well known, and the public also remembers him as a great poet, essay writer and art critic.

The exhibition was sponsored by the Serbian Ministry of Culture and Information.
