There will be enough gas, price will not change for now

BELGRADE - Srbijagas Director General Dusan Bajatovic stated on Thursday that the price of gas will not change for now and that there will be enough gas to meet the country's needs.

During a morning show broadcast by the Belgrade-Based Television Pink, Bajatovic said that even some potential additional costs would not affect the price of gas and that Serbia will have enough heating supplies as far as gas goes.

The Srbijagas director said that, as far as he is informed, the price of electricity will not change either.

He noted that sufficient coal quantities are lacking and that the fuel will have to be imported from Romania or another neighbouring country, adding that the search for a solution to the problem is underway.

Bajatovic also pointed to the current problem concerning shortages of sufficient oil fuel quantities because only Beogradske Elektrane has sufficient initial fuel quantities.

Viewed in the long-term context, if the Ukraine scenario persists for several months, we would have to import oil, Bajatovic said.

He underscored that at least 200 million cubic meters of gas stored in Hungary need to be ensured.
