Troicki reaches quarterfinals in Shenzhen

SHENZHEN - Serbia's Viktor Troicki defeated Spain's David Ferrer 6-3 6-4 in the second round of the ATP tournament in Shenzhen on Thursday and qualified for the quarterfinals of the event.

Troicki's fast and efficient play against the tournament's top seed showed that he is on his way back among the tennis elite.

He decided the match by serving excellently, scoring 12 aces, and by returning Ferrer's serves aggressively, which is something the Spaniard failed to find an answer to throughout the match.

Troicki will seek passage to the semifinals in a match against Santiago Hiraldo from Columbia who bested Thanasi Kokkinakis from Australia with a score of 6-4 6-3.
