65th anniversary of founding of PR China marked

BELGRADE - Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Manchang hosted on Thursday a reception to mark the 65th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China, which was attended by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.

China greatly appreciates the contribution of the Serbian government, led by Prime Minister Vucic, to the promotion of bilateral relations, Ambassador Li underlined, adding that Beijing also appreciates the prime minister's recent visit to China.

The visit was very successful. We greatly appreciate Vucic's personal contribution, the Chinese ambassador told Tanjug.

During his stay in Beijing, Vucic extended an invitation to Prime Minister of China Li Keqiang to visit Belgrade in December, said the ambassador, adding that this will be the first visit to Serbia by a Chinese prime minister after 30 years.

Coinciding with Prime Minister Li's visit to Serbia, the top officials of China and 16 countries in the region will gather for a "historic summit", which will further strengthen the cooperation between China and the 16 states, and particularly between China and Serbia, Ambassador Li underlined, noting that the ties between the two countries are "stronger today than yesterday, but certainly weaker than tomorrow".

Serbia has provided great assistance to China on its road to progress and China will never forget that, he said, stressing that in his capacity as ambassador he will do everything to make sure that the relations between China and Serbia continue to improve day after day.

We are stepping up the cooperation in all sectors, including economy, culture, agriculture, the Chinese ambassador noted.
