Macedonia's Coal Addiction 'Shortening Lives', Report Says

Macedonia's population of 2.1 million people collectively lost 234 years of life in 2012 owing to pollution from coal, a study by several environmental NGOs and the University of Stuttgart claims.

The study, "Health Impact from the Burning of Coal in Power Plants", says Macedonians annually lose some 8.5 million euro on treating lung cancer and other illnesses related to coal power production.
