Serbia and Czech Republic can improve cooperation

BELGRADE - A delegation of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and members of the Serbian parlaiment's European Integration Committee have agreed that there is room for improvement of bilateral, as well as economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries.

During a meeting held at the Serbian parliament on Monday, the two delegations exchanged experiences in the field of European integration, and both parties agreed that the experience of the Czech Republic here was of considerable importance to Serbia, according to a release from the Serbian parliament.

European Integration Committee Chairman Aleksandar Senic informed the Czech Senate delegation about the work and responsibilities of the Committee and thanked for the support the Czech Republic had been providing Serbia on its road to joining the European Union.

Senic stressed the importance of the historical moment Serbia is in and the role played by the European Integration Committee in the accession process, expressing the hope that the process would be completed during the current parliament's term.

A delegation of the Czech Senate's Committee on EU Affairs had separate meetings with members of the European Integration Committee and members of the parliamentary friendship group with the Czech Republic.
