SDA and SNSD strongest parties in parliaments

SARAJEVO - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) won most votes in the elections for the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH), the BiH Central Electoral Commission released on Monday.

SDA won 28 percent of votes in the territory of the Federation of BiH and SNSD won 39 percent in Republika Srpska (RS) at the elections held on Sunday.

According to the Commission's latest preliminary results, the two parties will have the largest number of MPs in the future parliament convocation.

The exact number of mandates in this stage of ballot count is still unknown but it is certain that the recently founded Democratic Front (DF) headed by Zeljko Komsic has made it to the very top of the list with 15 percent of votes, which makes it second-ranking party according to citizen support among parties in the territory of the Federation of BiH.

The Serb Democratic Party (SDS) won 33 percent of votes in RS territory and it came out second in the entity.

The Union for a Better Future of BiH (SBB) headed by Fahrudin Radoncic won slightly over 14 percent of votes and is the third-ranking party in the Federation of BiH and the Social Democratic Party of BiH (SDP), which has until now had the greatest number of representatives in the parliament, has dropped to the fourth place with 9.7 percent of votes.

Croatian parties in the coalition headed by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) won 12 percent of votes in BiH and HDZ 1990, which submitted an independent list for the elections in BiH, won 4.19 percent of votes.
