Exhibition Story of another lifetime opens

BELGRADE - The exhibition entitled 'Prica o drugom zivotu' (Story of another lifetime) opened at the Sava Promenade at the Kalemegdan Fortress on Tuesday within the programme of events to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade.

Opening the exhibition, Deputy City Secretary for Culture Gordana Predic said that the exhibition is a unique testimony of the days witnessed by civilians and soldiers in October 1944 when street fights for liberation of the Serbian capital flashed around the city.

The photographs display Partisan women in full military apparel, corpses, improvised cemeteries, medals, female soldiers warding the traffic, soldiers during lunchtime in the street and the soldiers hung at the Terazije Square.

The visitors will be able to see the Belgrade downtown as it looked in the historic days of World War II.

The exhibits also include photographs belonging to personal collections which citizens agreed to lend for the purposes of the exhibition organised by Belgrade Fortress public enterprise.
