Special award for film Monument to Michael Jackson

BELGRADE - Darko Lungulov's film Monument to Michael Jackson has won the Special Award of the Jury at the Let's Cee film festival in Vienna.

The jury stated that the film had captured them with its vivid story located in Serbia that transforms a serious topic with an original twist and excellent acting into a great pleasure for the audience.

"I am pleased that the jury described my film as a great pleasure for the audience, because that was precisely my intention, to create a film that makes you think, but one that the audience will also enjoy," Lungulov pointed out.

The film's global premiere was at a festival in Karlovy Vary, and it won the Grand Prix at the festival in Herceg Novi, Montenegro.

The film was also screened at festivals in the Croatian cities of Pula and Zadar, Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Nis in Serbia, where one of the actors, Boris Milivojevic won the best actor and critics awards.

Monument to Michael Jackson was also part of the Love and Anarchy festival in Helsinki, Raindance in London, International Festival in Hamburg and will appear soon at the Golden Orange festival in Antalya.

The film will premiere in Serbia at Belgrade's Sava Centar on October 29 and it will become available in cinemas across the country and the region the next day.
