Applause for 'I Defended Young Bosnia'

BELGRADE - 'I Defended Young Bosnia', a film written and directed by Srdjan Koljevic, premiered on Tuesday evening at Belgrade's Sava Center.

The cast and the crew were greeted with a long applause from the audience, which included many political and public figures, as well as colleagues from the film industry, who came to support this interesting and significant project.

A historical courtroom drama recreates the trial of Young Bosnia members accused of involvement in the Sarajevo assassination, and speaks of the enthusiasm and ideals of the Young Bosnia movement, from a less known point of view.

The story revolves around the young Austrian Rudolf Zistler, court appointed attorney for the defense, who approached this task with honor, arguing for the law and justice in a political trial conducted by Austro-Hungarian authorities in Sarajevo 1914.

The role of Zistler is played by Nikola Rakocevic, while Dragan Petrovic-Pele's portrayal of the judge presiding over this historic case is one of the best acting achievements in the film.

The cast includes Nebojsa Glogovac, Branislav Lecic, Radoslav Milenkovic, Irfan Mensur, and others.

The producer is Zoran Jankovic - Kosutnjak Film production company, and the distributor is Art Vista.

The project is supported by the Film Center Serbia and the Radio and Television of Serbia.

'I Defended Young Bosnia' premieres in Novi Sad on Wednesday, and its release in movie theaters across Serbia is set for October 16.
