Molotov cocktails, stones hurled in North Mitrovica

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - The former town hall building in North Kosovska Mitrovica, where are now civil protection premises, came under attack twice on Sunday evening.

Unknown perpetrators first threw three Molotov cocktails at around 7 p.m. in front of a civil protection vehicle that was parked outside the former town hall building, and then stoned it at around 10:30 p.m., said eyewitnesses.

No one was injured and no damage was made in the attacks.

According to eyewitnesses, a group of four-five young men came from the southern, Albanian part of Kosovska Mitrovica across the pontoon bridge, which is located across the street from the civil protection building.

The incident took place in front of the very eyes of a Kosovo police patrol which did not manage to catch perpetrators, eyewitnesses said.

As for the second attack, according to security guards that were in the civil protection building at that time, three young men hurled stones at the building, and then ran away.

A Kosovo police patrol was on watch in the street where the incidents took place, and there were two EULEX jeeps there too.
