Senior representative at the U.S. Mission at the European Union Elena Bryan said in Ploiesti (60 km north of Bucharest) on Thursday that each EU member should make a decision that should be best suited locally as regards the shale gas exploitation.

Bryan explained that in the United States each state took its own decision with respect to the shale gas drilling and it is in the same way that the EU members should act.

The U.S. official made the remarks as she attended a working meeting at the headquarters of Prahova County's Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the future EU-U.S. commercial agreement known as the Transatlantic Trade and Investments Partnership (TTIP).

Bryan stressed that the negotiations are complicated, given it is about two advanced economic systems that must be correlated in order to function as best as possible together. According to her, no deadline has been set for completing the talks, as the important thing is to obtain the 'substance' of this agreement following the discussions.AGERPRES
