Ivanovic finishes appearance in Singapore with victory

SINGAPORE - Serbia's Ana Ivanovic has defeated Romania's Simona Halep 7(9)-6 3-6 6-3 at the WTA season's final tournament in Singapore, but is out of the tournament because she needed to win 2-0 in order to move through.

This was Ivanovic's 2nd victory in Red Group, but it was not enough to be among the top 4 players. For that, she needed deny Halep any sets.

Halep will play against Poland's Agnieszka Radwanska, while Williams of the US will face Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki.

The prize fund for the tournament is USD 6.5 million.
