Romania's Foreign Ministry (MAE) is firmly condemning two terror attacks that occurred on October 24 in the northern part of Egypt's Sinai Peninsula that killed Egyptian soldiers and left many injured.

In a press release issued on Saturday, MAE 'is voicing full compassion for the injured people while extending its sincerest condolences to the families of the victims of these attacks,' and 'is repudiating violent actions, no matter their nature and expressing support for the efforts of the Egyptian authorities to combat terror actions."

Egypt on Friday declared a three-month emergency state in parts of the northern and southern Sinai Peninsula, a bastion of Jihadists, following the death of 30 Egyptian soldiers in a suicide attack. News agencies report that since the ousting of Islamic President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013, Egypt has been the scene of attacks against security forces, despite an ample offensive by the Egyptian Army in the northern Sinai Peninsula.
