President Basescu receives Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem

President Traian Basescu received on Saturday at the Cotroceni Palace Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, who was visiting Romania on the day of St. Demetrius the New, the patron saint of Bucharest. Romanian Orthodox Patriarch Daniel, accompanying Patriarch Theophilos, was also the president's guest.

According to a release of the Presidential Administration, Basescu evoked his previous meeting with the Patriarch of Jerusalem during his state visit to Israel in January; the president expressed his appreciations for the efforts of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem to cultivate the dialogue between religion and confessions at the Holy Places.
