French company potential investor in Belgrade

BELGRADE - The delegation of French company Suez Environnement arrived in Belgrade for a two-day visit during which it will conduct talks with city heads concerning the projects of private-public partnership.

Suez Environnement is the second largest company in France which operates in the area of drinking water processing, and it is also one of the leading world companies according to the number of service users.

The business delegation also comprises officials of the company's Degremont branch office which specialises in water filtering and has been in operation for over 70 years.

On the first day of their visit, the French delegation visited the Makis 1 and Makis 2 water purification plants and the landfill in Vinca near Belgrade.

Degremont company was the technology holder in the period 1985-1987 when the Makis 1 water purification plant was built, and the purpose of the visit of Degremont officials is to evaluate the potentials for the company's engagement in the plant reconstruction works.

The visit of the French business delegation was agreed in Vienna recently, during the first regional conference of South-East European cities.
