Serbian, Macedonian writers sign cooperation protocol

BELGRADE - Association of Serbian Writers (UKS) President Radomir Andric and President of Macedonian Writers' Association Vele Smilevski signed on Tuesday a protocol on cooperation between the two associations.

The signing of this binding document is a result and the crown of a longstanding and fruitful cooperation, UKS said in a release.

The protocol was signed in the presence of several renowned Serbian authors and UKS' guest from Turkey, writer Erol Tufan.

The protocol refers to information exchange in literature and culture, promotion of literary translation and publication of translated works, exchange of literary and professional journals, and enhanced cooperation between professional organizations in the spheres of culture and literature.

The Serbian and Macedonian writers' associations also pledged to make an active effort, within their ability, in expanding and intensifying the cultural cooperation between the two countries, the release states.
