Hammond congratulates Vucic on implementation of reforms

LONDON - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met with British Minister of Foreign Affairs Philip Hammond in London on Wednesday, who congratulated him on successful implementation of economic reforms and progress in meeting the European standards.

Hammond underlined that a flexible labor market is important for foreign investors, and added that the arrival of foreign investors is crucial for economic growth.

The Great Britain is a good example when it comes to foreign investments, Hammond underlined, adding that the stability of the Western Balkan region is the British government's priority, while Serbia should have a crucial role in the region, the Serbian government's press office released in a statement.

Vucic underlined at the meeting that regional stability is the key to success, adding that Serbia endeavors to improve economic cooperation through joint projects which would lead to improvement of the economic situation in the Western Balkan countries.

The Serbian prime minister extended an official invitation to the British prime minister to visit Belgrade in the forthcoming period.

The Serbian prime minister conferred with House of Commons Leader William Hague and Goldman Sachs top managers for Europe concerning Serbia's fiscal consolidation measures.

Moreover, Vucic met with Esmark CEO Jim Bouchard, after which he announced that the agreement on Zelezara Smederevo is in sight. Vucic also had a meeting with London Mayor Boris Johnson.

On Monday, the prime minister held a lecture at the London School of Economics.
