Indian fusion band to have concert in Belgrade on Nov 3

BELGRADE - The Indian fusion band "East India Company" will hold a concert at Dom Omladine in Belgrade on November 3, the Indian Embassy in Belgrade has announced.

The concert of the eight-member Indian fusion band led by Angaraag Papon Mahanta is organized in cooperation with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) from New Delhi.

Angaraag Mahanta is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and singer, one of the most recognizable and coveted vocals in India. Although his roots are in folk music, he accepted a wide range of musical influences.

He received initial education in the field of Indian classical and traditional music, as well as spiritual and folk music, and his innovative experiments are a combination of ambience and electronic music.

Papon Mahanta and his fusion band "East India Company" performed at all music festivals in India. Last year, they performed at the World Music Festival in Dubai, and they began this year with three concerts at the prestigious Celtic Connections in Glasgow, Scotland.

In October, the band is in the Netherlands, from where it will come to Serbia.
