Serb stabbed in Mitrovica

KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Two masked perpetrators attacked Caslav Ilic, 35, from Kosovska Mitrovica just before 8 a.m. on Friday, stabbing him several times in the stomach.

Ilic is off the critical list, but has been admitted to the Mitrovica hospital for treatment.

The incident took place in front of a student hall of residence in northern Kosovska Mitrovivca, when the two masked attackers approached Ilic, and one stabbed him several times.

Ilic's brother Milan told reporters that he suspects that "the top tier of the Mitrovica region police" is behind the attack.

Caslav Ilic works for the Kosovo police.

In front of the student hall of residence, where the attack took place, the Kosovo police are now examining the site, and the place where the incident happened has been marked with yellow tape.
