DIICOT: Three individuals in possesion of 10 kg of heroin caught in Bucharest

Prosecutors with the Directorate for the Investigation of Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) and policemen of the Directorate for the Fight against Organized Crime (DCCO) have caught red-handed three individuals holding over 10 kilograms of heroin.

According to a press release of the DIICOT, remitted on Saturday to AGERPRES, the three individuals — a Turkish citizen and two Romanian citizens — were led to the institution's headquarters for questioning, as suspects of committing the crimes of international high-risk drugs trafficking and internal high-risk drugs trafficking.

"There is reasonable suspicion towards the three individuals that they have illegally introduced to Romania, and transported on the territory of our country, 10.323 kg of the high risk drug heroine originating from Turkey", the quoted release shows.

According to DIICOT, the case was handled with specialty support granted by Special Operations Directorate personnel, with personnel of the Special Intervention Brigade of the Romanian Jandarmerie also taking part in the sting operation. AGERPRES
